Beautiful vintage Caswell-Runyan cedar chest with an absolutely stunning carved furniture-style front, curved legs and original brass-tone hardware. The cedar interior is in excellent condition—clean, beautiful and exceptionally well preserved.
 
It also still has its original Caswell-Runyan Cedar Chest / $250 Moth Damage Guarantee card attached inside the lid, which is such a cool piece of its history. The front of this piece is truly gorgeous. The carved fan and shell details, warm wood tone and graceful legs make it look much more like a beautiful piece of antique furniture than a typical cedar chest.
 
Please note: the TOP ONLY does show considerable age and wear, including scratches, finish loss and other surface imperfections (see pic). I have photographed it honestly and priced the chest accordingly. I chose not to completely refinish the top because I did not want to alter the rest of this beautiful original piece. Aside from the top, the front, sides, legs and especially the cedar interior present beautifully.
 
This would be wonderful at the foot of a bed, in an entryway, living room or anywhere you want beautiful hidden storage.
